Thank you for visiting the Holy Trinity Church website! We are an LEP church consisting of Church of England and Methodist congregation. We are a group of ordinary people, whose vision is that we at Holy Trinity church is a place of ‘Welcome, Fellowship and a Community in Christ’. Please do come and join us at one of our regular services or events. If you are new to our site, we hope the information you find here will be helpful to you.

The Parish of Holy Trinity, Thorpe Hesley and Scholes, is committed to high standards in the safeguarding and care of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Our Safeguarding Officer is Mrs Jane Hore, who can be contacted on 07948382445 or by email jhore@blueyonder.co.uk

Holy Trinity Church is now open for public worship

To ensure the safety of all who enter the building a maximum of 30 will be allowed, and where the 2 metre social distancing will be maintained. This applies to public worship, weddings, funerals and baptisms. We will be offering 2 services - Sunday morning, Wednesday morning (both at 10am). Because of restrictions on numbers entering the building we have decided the simplest way would be for those wishing to join us for worship would be to ring or email the church first. Church telephone number: 0114 2457564 Email address: thorpehesleychurch@hotmail.co.uk

We will be constantly reviewing and updating as we go along, and I’m sure there will still be changes ahead that we will have to adapt to at short notice.

Although the church building is now open we will continue to record services and post them onto the website. Also there are various Church of England apps for Daily Prayer and Reflections which are a wonderful resource and unite us in prayer.

As a country the restrictions in what we can now do are being slowly and carefully lifted, however this still continues to be an anxious time for many. If you feel anxious or isolated please be assured you are not alone. If you would like a chat please do get in touch with us. Revd Lynn 0114 2463487 or parish office 0114 2457564

Remembrance Sunday 8th November

As with so many things this year we have had to change or adapt how we do things, this also includes this years Remembrance Sunday services. This year because of restrictions and guidelines we have to follow, we are unable to hold the usual Remembrance Sunday Parades at the War Memorial or Flanders court. However, Remembrance Sunday is important, so although we are not physically gathering in one place it doesn’t mean we don’t remember the sacrifice made by so many of our forces both men and women. This year we would like to encourage you to place a poppy in your window, perhaps encourage the children to colour one in and place in your window. A colouring sheet can be downloaded here. And then at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning stand on your doorstep to mark the two minute silence. We will be playing the last post so you might hear us!
